Lawrence Kelaton of Smooth-On Holland will also be showing a range of Smooth-On materials, applying prosthetic and Make-Up techniques.

We’re happy to announce SFX MASTERCLASS / FANTASPORTO 2010, a Special Effects Masterclass with David Marti and Colin Arthur at Fantasporto Film Festival 2010!

He did Falcor for Never Ending Story, he worked with Kubrick in 2001: A Space Odyssey, with John Millius in Conan, The Barbarian… wow! Recently he and his team at Dream Factory (Madrid) Open Your Eyes, Sexy Beast, Talk To Her.

Filipe Melo, writer & producer of I’ll See You In My Dreams will join Colin and David for a Q&A session in the last day.

The event will take place during two days, 24th & 25th February, in Pequeno Auditório, Rivoli as part of the 30th edition of Fantasporto – Porto International Film Festival.

Pedro Costa Retrospective @ Tate Modern

Posted in Other Stuff with tags , , , , , , on 20/09/2009 by londonsessions

Back in 2002 I was in a film festival having several drinks with Chris Doyle and Ed Lachman… Conversation was about European Cinema. Lachman claimed that Pedro Costa was his favourite Portuguese director. I asked him if he knew any others. He told me not to be a smart ass and to get the next round of drinks. And so I did,  impressed that a Hollywood DoP knew Pedro Costa’s work….

This crap story to say that the Tate Modern is holding a Pedro Costa’s retrospective from next Friday 25th Sept. Check it.

If you can’t wait for Friday he’ll be at the Curzon Soho with his piece de resistence “Bones” next Wednesday 23rd Sept.

In the mean time read what Peter Bradshaw wrote about PC in the Guardian last week.

Enjoy.
